Beyond “Once Upon a Time”

You only have a few seconds (yes - seconds!) to grab people’s attention. If you don’t, you are going to lose your audience.  And I’m sorry to tell you this, but you won’t get them back.

During my 20+ years helping people stand up and speak, I've discovered that one of the things people struggle with the most is how to start. That one line of opening text can be a mental block that derails our best creative intentions. But having something that can help us feel inspired and think outside the box is the key to getting our audience to lean in and listen.

You know that feeling when you look out and see a room full of people looking at their phones instead of at you? It’s pretty awful, right? Simply put, it means you’re not taking advantage of the oxytocin spike that occurs in a listener when the speaker gets their opening *just right.*

The good news: there’s more than one way to get those people to lean in. In my free guide, Beyond Once Upon a Time, I give you 15 attention-grabbing openers to hook your audience

Use these for:

> Podcast interviews
> Reports to key stakeholders
> Panels, plenaries, or keynote speeches

Go Beyond Once Upon a Time and live happily ever after.
